Excellence in Teaching, Research and Applied Projects

Unisinos Business School seeks for foster humanistic education, based on excellence in education and research in business, with a focus on social and economic development in local and global contexts.

Claudia Cristina Bitencourt

(School's Dean)

Message from the Dean

In the four-year-period from 2006 to 2009, Unisinos began to question what would foster academic excellence beyond operational quality vis-à-vis itself and the evaluating bodies of the Ministry of Education and Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). Thus, the idea of the School was conceived as a form of "innovation to respond to the new requirements of transversality, to overcome the limitations of the segmentation of the old academic structure, with its departments and centers" (Memória UNISINOS, 2006-2015). The School encompasses homologous lines of knowledge, which is constituted by undergraduate programs, graduate programs, and continuing education, besides its institutional and international partnerships.

In 2009, the idea of the School is introduced to the academic community and, in 2013, the Unisinos Business School is officially created. The mission of Unisinos Business School is to promote excellence in education and research in the management area, focusing on social and economic development in a local and global context. In addition, the School’s vision for 2025 is "to be a School of international reference in management and business for social and economic development through people’s education and innovative projects".

For this reason, we pursue technological inflection and internationalization, providing to our students unique experiences in multiple contexts, constantly building a bridge between knowledge and organizational practices. Our actions are inspired by the Jesuit values and the conception of whole human beings since we believe that building a better world depends on each one of us (and a good education). Therefore, academic excellence is a trait of our culture that is reflected in each one of the School's programs, whether undergraduate, graduate or continuing education.

The central pillars that guide Unisinos Business School are based on (1) excellence in teaching, (2) research and (3) applied projects, inspired by Unisinos' vision of being a global research university.
